Download & setup

AVL reads prices from the MT5 (MetaTrader 5) on your own computer and shows the chart in the AVL app on the same computer. Prices never pass through anyone else's server. You need two things: the AVL app and the EA (AVL_Link).

First-time setup (about 5 minutes)

    Install the AVL app

    MacAVL-Mac.dmg
    • Windows: open "AVL-Setup-Windows.exe" and follow the installer. If "Windows protected your PC" appears, click "More info" → "Run anyway".
    • Mac: open "AVL-Mac.dmg" and drag AVL into "Applications". The first time, right-click AVL → "Open".

    Add the EA to MT5

    • In MT5, choose File → Open Data Folder.
    • Copy "AVL_Link.ex5" into MQL5 → Experts.
    • In the Navigator, right-click Expert Advisors → Refresh. AVL_Link appears.

    Put the EA on a chart

    • Drag AVL_Link from the Navigator onto any chart and press OK.
    • When the Experts tab shows "AVL Link: …", it is running. Symbols are found automatically.
    • The EA only reads prices. It never trades, so Algo Trading does not need to be on.

    Open the AVL app and sign in

    • With MT5 open, start the AVL app and sign in with your e-mail and password.
    • The chart now moves with the same prices as your MT5.

On your phone

  • •Open AVL in your phone's browser and sign in with the same account.
  • •While MT5 and the AVL app run on your computer, the chart goes straight from your computer to your phone (encrypted).
  • •If the computer is off, the phone's chart stops. To watch while you are out, leave the computer (or a VPS) running.

Demo trading

  • •Demo trades are filled, stopped and taken with your own MT5 prices.
  • •While the computer is off nothing is judged; when you open it again, the missed minutes are checked back in order.

Safety

  • •The EA only reads prices. It never places orders or changes your account.
  • •You never enter your MT5 password into AVL.
  • •Chart prices never leave your computer (only the latest price for judging your own demo account is sent).
  • •Your phone connects only to your own devices signed in to the same account, encrypted.

Troubleshooting

The chart does not move
Check that MT5 is open and AVL_Link is on a chart. Prices do not move while the market is closed.
AVL_Link is not in the Navigator
Check it is in MQL5 → Experts, then right-click the Navigator → Refresh.
No chart on my phone
Check that MT5 and the AVL app are running on your computer and both use the same account. Some networks do not allow a direct connection.
Mac says it cannot open AVL
Right-click AVL → Open (first time only).
